Gene C. Sulzberger JD, TEP, ADPA®, CFP®
Gene Sulzberger is a Miami native with more than 20 years of experience in financial services and wealth planning. As an attorney, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), and Registered Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP), Gene is actively involved in the community and dedicated to helping his clients meet their financial planning goals.
Gene has been well established in the Greater Miami community for years, and has sat on numerous nonprofit boards, including the Mount Sinai Medical Center Foundation, the Vizcayans, GableStage, and Tigertail Productions. He is also active on numerous advisory boards, including those at Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation and the University of Miami’s Estate and Gift Planning Council. Gene currently sits on the community board for the University of Miami AIDS Research Institute and is active with the University of Miami’s Citizens Board.
In 2007, Gene received the Twelve Good Men honor, awarded to outstanding community leaders in Miami-Dade County by Ronald McDonald House. On the weekends, Gene competes in triathlons and long distance road races, including marathons and an Ironman Triathlon.
A member of the Florida Bar, Gene holds both CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and Accredited Domestic Partnership Advisor (ADPA®) certifications. He is also a Registered Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) as designated by London’s Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and is an Investment Advisor Representative.
In 2012, the South Florida Legal Guide named Gene as one of the Top South Florida Financial Professionals. He is also contributing editor in the area of wealth management for Attorney at Law magazine’s Greater Miami edition. In July 2014, Gene started his own investment advisory firm, Sulzberger Capital Advisors, in which he provides customized investment solutions for U.S. and international clients.
Gene earned his Bachelor of Science with a major in Finance in 1986 from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He then earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law in 1991. In addition to working at senior levels at EFG Capital Advisors, PRS Investment Advisory, BNY Mellon’s Wealth Management and SunTrust Bank’s Private Wealth division, Gene practiced law in Miami focusing his practice on estate planning and trust and probate administration.
